Sweet Suggestion...

If you ever find yourself in Williams Sonoma (which I frequently do), then I would like to make a suggestion:

Buy this...

...and make these.

You wont be sorry you did.

Easter Sunday...

...was a beautiful day, wasn't it?

We had a great holiday weekend.

Blaise and I decided to sleep in on Saturday morning.  We took our time eating breakfast and getting ready while Blair was working.

(he wanted to take an picture with Marley and I after his hair was styled.)

When Blair got home we headed to Stillwater with my Mom and spent the weekend with my Grandparents.  My grandmother is a wonderful cook and is often my inspiration in the kitchen.  Needless to say, we enjoyed having brunch and dinner that she prepared.  I'm so lucky to have still have my grandparents around.

Blair and I got to have some alone time on Saturday night and went downtown Stillwater.  We dont spend nearly enough time together alone, and we had a great time.  Downtown Stillwater is awesome (definitely a must in the summer).

We had to stay out late enough to make sure Blaise was sleeping so the Easter Bunny could have this ready for him in the morning...

Happy Easter Blaise!

Then it was time for an Easter egg hunt.
We made him work for it.

He spent the rest of the day digging for worms
(and Marley helped).
Found one!

"Lets chase Mom with it!"

Marley and Petey had a Happy Easter too.
Mars loves smelling the flowers

We hope you had a wonderful weekend too.

It's been a while...

We have been so busy lately.

Last weekend we finally finished updating our bathroom (again).

A fresh coat of paint, a custom counter top, tiles, and a new sink.

OK, I'm done with the sales pitch...

But seriously, I LOVE IT!  Blair did an amazing job!

We've had a lot of firsts in the last couple weeks.

Blaise gave himself a haircut
(with a clipper after watching daddy shave his face).

See the bald spot?
(Yes, those are highlights.  Can you believe he sat still long enough?)

So, the only way to fix it was with a mow hawk.

I think he rocks it.

We also got B signed up for preschool.  He starts in the fall at Lake Ripley Elementary, which is where he will be going to Kindergarten too, so he will already know where everything is and will be prepared to be there every day when the time comes.  On Tuesday we took him to the school to check out his classroom (which we had a hard time getting him to leave) and meet his teacher.  He is so excited (and so are we)!

I also signed Blaise up for some summer rec sports.  He will be starting soccer and t-ball along with swimming lessons in May.  I can't wait to watch him do his thing!  But I also know this means it will probably be our busiest summer yet.

Such is life.

Art Often Imitates Life...

I think I have something against spending a whole weekend at home.  Blaise gets bored so quickly and when that happens look out, because something WILL get broken.  I keep looking for things to do to keep us busy and this weekend I found a great new place to go.

It's our new favorite spot!  Anyone with children should check it out.  Its a great way to spend a few hours together and introduce your child to art.

Blaise and I had a blast!  We spent over 2 hours glazing pottery for each other and had a great time bonding.  He made me the most beautiful coffee cup and I can't wait to use it every day.

My favorite artist.

He's pretty serious about those polka-dots.

Our finished products.

Ready to be fired in the kiln.

Now we just have to wait until next weekend to pick up our projects.  I can't wait to get them!

Guess what else happened this weekend?

The sun came out (and so did Marley).

We hope you all got to enjoy a little sunshine this weekend too.
